Multi network scheduling backup mechanism for industrial routers
Multi network scheduling backup mechanism for industrial routers
With the continuous expansion of IoT application scenarios and the increasing intelligence of industrial equipment, the stability and reliability of network connections have become increasingly important. In order to ensure that devices can achieve long-term reliable network connections in various complex environments, Homtecs M2M's entire series of industrial router products support a multi network scheduling backup mechanism. Through flexible combinations and efficient scheduling strategies of different networks, multi network backup and automatic switching are achieved, ensuring that devices can quickly switch to other available networks in case of poor network conditions or failures, thereby ensuring the continuity and stability of network connections.
In order to meet the needs of different application scenarios, our industrial router products offer the following five network combination modes:
1, Dual card single standby mode
In dual SIM single standby mode, the router supports inserting two SIM cards, but the device only contains one wireless module internally, which means that only one SIM card can work. The device will prioritize using the primary card for connection. If the primary card fails or the signal quality is poor, the device will automatically switch to the backup card, but at this time, it needs to be redialed for connection. The dual card single standby mode is suitable for scenarios that do not require high network switching latency.
2, Dual card dual standby mode
In dual SIM dual standby mode, the device contains two independent wireless modules that can support two SIM cards working simultaneously. Compared to the dual card single standby mode, the advantage of the dual card dual standby mode is that there is no need to redial the connection, the switching speed is extremely fast, and the existing connection is almost never interrupted. This mode is particularly suitable for application scenarios that require high network continuity.
3, Mobile network and wired network serve as backups for each other
In this mode, the device supports both mobile internet access via SIM card and wired internet access via WAN port. When either the mobile network or the wired network fails, the device will automatically switch to the other network. This mode is suitable for environments where there is a wired network on site but a mobile network is desired as a backup.
4, Mobile network and WiFi serve as backups for each other
In the backup mode between mobile network and WiFi, the device's WiFi works in client mode and supports both SIM card mobile internet and WiFi internet. When any one of the network connections encounters a problem, the device will switch to another network to ensure uninterrupted communication. This mode is particularly suitable for on-site WiFi network access, but it is desired to backup the designated environment through a mobile network.
5, Wired network and WiFi serve as backups for each other
In the backup mode of wired network and WiFi, the device supports both WAN port wired internet access and WiFi internet access, and can flexibly switch between the two. This mode is suitable for environments where wired networks may experience disconnections or significant fluctuations.
